SasmoX Gypsum Bonded Particle Board is one of wood fiber bonded plasterboard.
Fire Resistance:
At the heart of every SasmoX board is the crystal water bound into the gypsum raw material. This structure allows the board achieve both Building Regulations Class O BS476:Part 6 1981 and Part 7 1987.Constructions with a fire resistance of up to 120 minutes may be achieved by correct detailing of SasmoX.
Racking Performance:
Due to the unique bonding between the gypsum and the wood fibres a high racking performance is achieved. SasmoX has been tested to a racking strength of 2.03Kn/m and is assessed as Category 1 sheathing material pursuant to BS5268 part 6.1. Whether you are designing a "reverse wall" or need extra racking in areas of glazing SasmoX can provide the solution.
Impact resistance:
With a surface hardness of 18N/mm2 SasmoX is able to withstand the knocks associated with the everyday use of structures whether they be domestic, commercial or secure accomodation. On the very rare occasions where excessive impacts have caused damage to the surface of the board, the affected area may be simply cut out, patched and the surface made good using SasmoX filler.
High Density:
SasmoX is manufactured with a density of a minimum of 1200kg allowing it to be specified as part of a building system satisfying Part E Building Regulations 2000.
Moisture Tolerance - Whilst designed principally for internal dry conditions Sasmox may also be used in cold industrial and storage facilities where protected from water and snow. SasmoX Plus, which has an added water resistant additive, is also available for more specialised applications.
Recycled Content:
The raw material content of SasmoX is 83% gypsum, 15% wood fibres and 2% water by weight. The gypsum content is recycled from a local power plant where it has been used previously as part of a filtration process. The wood fibre content is sourced from local sawmills from where it has no commercial value other than as a biomass fuel source.
Low Emmision:
SasmoX has no hazardous content and is certified to the M1 emmisions class for Building Materials.
